German coffee brand Dallmayr is known to all lovers of a good drink. They buy it for themselves and as a gift, drink it in the morning and throughout the day. The company has been offering high-quality products for over 300 years and it is not surprising that it has so many fans in Europe and around the world. We tell you in detail about the manufacturer, production, range, prices and reviews of Dallmayr coffee.
About the brand
The Dallmeier trading house appeared back in 1700, more precisely, it was at this time that it was first mentioned in the record, and it was created even earlier. The store owners offered delicacies, and the business was so successful that in 1900 the once small family business became the official supplier to the court of the Bavarian Kingdom and the Emperor's court in Berlin, as well as supplier to 14 more houses of the kings of Europe. After Black Friday and the economic crisis in 1931, the company was looking for ways to somehow attract profit and decided to invest in coffee. It was he who made her world famous today.
In addition to coffee, the brand also sells tea, cheeses, delicacies, and produces coffee machines and vending machines. In Munich they have a luxurious restaurant and bistro café.
In Russia, Dallmeier coffee is mainly known.
Brand history
The German coffee brand Dallmeier began its journey as a boutique of rare delicacies, offering visitors - representatives of the elite and aristocracy - an African drink, teas, sweets and other products that were outlandish in those days.
The first mention of the famous shop dates back to the beginning of the 18th century. The company quickly gained momentum and eventually became the official supplier to the imperial court of Bavaria and other wealthy houses throughout Europe.
By the beginning of the twentieth century, a small family business was a big business, and good coffee from all over the world became the main import product. Dallmeier spread their brand more widely, opening new points of sale.
Today, the company not only prepares the best varieties of whole bean and ground coffee, but also produces high-quality cheeses, produces professional equipment for coffee shops and runs several luxury restaurants and bistros.
Raw materials and production
The company purchases only green coffee from selected partner plantations, and prefers family businesses rather than large enterprises.
The beans used are those grown in the highlands of Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, Colombia and Brazil, but other variations are also found in some blends. Roasting takes place in-house, and the company's experts have to test about 400 cups of the drink every day to check the quality of supplies and accurately follow the recipe so that consumers get exactly the taste they are used to.
Range
Buyers can choose drinks from several lines at once - each of them has its own characteristics. Mostly bean and ground Dallmayr coffee is supplied, although there are also tablets in filters and instant. We present the main lines:
Рrodomo
This is a blend of 100% Arabica beans from Ethiopia and South and Central America. Perhaps the most famous type of coffee is Dallmeyer, which is actively advertised and is familiar to many. The roast is medium, the sourness is weakly expressed, but the aroma is persistent and strong, alluring, invigorating.
Classic
The product that has received the most awards: for example, it was chosen as Product of the Year in 2013, and in 2012 it was named Hit of the Year in Germany. A blend of several varieties from different provinces. The roast is medium, sourness and bitterness are almost not felt, the aroma is quite bright. A good option for any occasion.
Crema and Espresso d'Oro
A series of three Dallmeier coffee drinks, each with a particularly stable crema foam. The beans are roasted for a longer time, resulting in a golden crema on the surface. Ideal for preparation in coffee machines.
- Crema d'Oro is soft, well balanced, not too dark, with pronounced acidity and aroma.
- Crema d'Oro intense - darker roasted, with a rich aroma, but at the same time the minimum possible acidity, bitterness and sweetness can be heard in the taste.
- Espresso d'Oro is a strong, roasted classic espresso, a blend of Arabica and Robusta. More bitter and tart than sour.
Intenso & Perfetto
There are two products in this line of Dallmayr coffee, but they are both more southern, Italian, rich, slightly tart, but not sour. Valuable Arabica and Robusta varieties are used to prepare the blends.
- Espresso intenso is a classic with subtle hints of dark chocolate, intense, with a strong aroma and slight sourness. Creamy foam with a hint of toasted hazelnut.
- Caffè Crema perfetto is softer, not too strong, but gives the perfect, breathtaking airy foam, the best choice for making Cappuccino or Macchiato.
Espresso Monaco
Munich is, in a way, called the northernmost city in Italy, and this drink is a tribute to the Italian taste of true espresso. Noble Arabica beans are used, roasted until dark in color so that all their best characteristics are revealed, tones of chocolate aroma and shades of taste with a slight hint of citrus.
Ethiopia
This is a unique product of the brand. The company actively supports the development and improvement of coffee production in the country, and participates in the UTZ program aimed at replenishing natural resources. The Dallmayr coffee brand is the world's largest importer of Ethiopian beans, and for every pack purchased, funds are deducted to plant 5 tree seedlings in Ethiopia.
The beans, growing in the south of the country, in the province of Sidamo, have a particularly mild taste, and light roasting emphasizes it and reveals the multifaceted aroma of herbs.
French Press Selection
This blend of East African beans is made specifically for cooking in the French press. Try this method to experience the hazelnut and almond tones described by coffee experts, combined with notes of ripe apples and orange zest. The aroma is floral, spicy, with a chocolate aftertaste.
Rare varieties
This line includes three special varieties of Dallmeier coffee, grown only in limited regions. Each of them has its own tones and shades, appreciated by baristas and coffee lovers.
- Kilimanjaro is the finest highland Arabica bean from Tanzania, where the trees grow in the tropics and the snow lies very close by. Light roast, a special floral taste characteristic only of one area, an alluring aroma.
- Granverde is Dallmayr coffee labeled BIO. A high-quality blend from the best plantations in Latin America, light, light, with subtle nutty notes and slight sourness.
- Neiva is classic Colombia at its best. Subtle, noble, slightly spicy aroma with hints of citrus fruits. Beans from only one plantation, having their own special taste.
Selected varieties
The best beans from valuable plantations in various coffee regions, the most expensive Dallmeier coffee, which is not so easy to find on sale. Their value is in their rarity, very few beans are produced, and the company does not even release such drinks every year. But if you're interested, you can look it up online.
- Dyawa Antara - grains from India, Java and Papua New Guinea, with notes of tobacco and cocoa, a subtle floral aroma.
- Antigua Tarrazu is a high-mountain coffee from Guatemala and Costa Rica, with a soft and delicate taste, a delicate and long aftertaste.
- Ethiopian Crown - grows in the mountainous Ethiopian forests, where it acquires a delicate, slightly herbaceous noble shade, a subtle taste of spices, a fullness of taste with a balanced acidity.
- San Sebastian - grows on the slopes of the Fuego volcano in southern Guatemala, hand-picked and processed naturally. As they say, the owners of the company keep some of these coffee beans for themselves.
Gold
According to the manufacturer, this drink turns water into gold. The only Dallmayr instant coffee officially presented on the Russian market. It claims to contain no additives other than grains and pure water. High-quality, albeit not ideal, Ethiopian Arabica, lightly roasted, has a bright aroma and a quite dense body.
Those who want to get maximum vigor from instant coffee need to either make the drink more concentrated, or look for mass-produced options made from cheaper but less aromatic Robusta.
Types of Dallmayr coffee from a German manufacturer
The brand has many lines, each with its own taste, smell and type (ground or instant). The company’s priority is the supply of beans and ground coffee, but you can also find a capsule version, portioned, for French press and for coffee machines.

This blend is the most popular in Germany today. It contains Ethiopian Arabica, as well as Guatemalan and Costa Rican Arabica. Dallmayr Prodomo (Dallmayer Prodomy) can be purchased in various variations: both in beans and in the form of ground beans, and even decaffeinated, this product goes through the process of removing caffeine from Dallmayer coffee beans.
The coffee has a medium roast, and its aftertaste is complemented by a slight sourness. The drink can be prepared in different ways. The simplest and most convenient way is to prepare it in a classic drip coffee maker. Reviews
We have collected consumer opinions for you.
Very aromatic coffee. I'm happy with everything.
Alice, designer.
Another attempt to find delicious coffee led me to a small coffee shop. Where the barista advised me to try a drink brewed from Espresso Monaco. I was pleasantly surprised - I really liked the coffee. Bright aroma and pleasant sourness. Although before, even a hint of acid would make me feel terrible. But here, on the contrary, the taste of the drink has become even better. I bought a package for myself to take home. I hope my search is over.
Olga, manager.
Friends brought me a package of Dallmayr Prodomo. They were on holiday in Germany. Having read on the packaging that it contains 100% Arabica coffee, I decided not to delay and immediately brew myself a cup. The taste is amazing. This is a godsend for those who love soft coffee.

Dallmayr coffee reviews
Of course, you can find everything online, but you don’t come across any negative reviews about Dallmeier coffee. Consumers are delighted, on most sites - a confident 5 stars, on some reviews - “fours”, but solely because the buyer chose a slightly different product than he would have liked in terms of intensity. Here are just a few examples from the web:
Dalmayer – only advantages! The best I've ever seen.
My favorite ground coffee for over 4 years now. It’s a pity, you rarely find it in stores, I often order online, but delivery is long. 3.But I don’t agree to any more compromises.
Perhaps the ideal coffee for a coffee machine. I tried a lot, but Dallmayr is the best in all respects.
Once I ran into a fake, but now I know for sure - you just need to buy German packaging, and everything will be good!
A godsend for a coffee lover!!! I took it, I take it and I will take it, both for myself and as a gift. Half a kilogram packs for a ridiculous price for such German quality!
All in all, Dallmayr coffee is something really worth trying.
